Farm, Friends and Fun!

I know I blogged just the other day but I had to tell everyone what a good girl I am. I had a VERY busy weekend. Saturday my foster sisters and I had a doggie playdate with friends, Milo, Maxx & Greta. We had a BLAST for hours running around the yard, chasing each other & wrestling too. I never played with so many dogs before! It was SO much fun! Everyone was very friendly and we all played really well together. Don't tell the girls or Milo, but I have a little crush on Maxx. He is such a tall, handsome black & white GSP who plays a lot like me. He's almost 2 yrs old & very puppy-like just like me. I also got to meet those doggie's moms & dads & I really liked them too. Everyone agreed that I'm a sweetheart and wanted to take me home too but couldn't for one reason or another. I hope I find a new family soon. I really like it here but I am excited to get on with my new life.

Maybe I met my new forever family on Sunday at the farm festival where Rescue had a booth set up. Jessie & I had so much fun meeting lots of moms and dads and kids too. I especially loved the kids. When they came to say hi my tail wagged even faster and my happy dance got even happier. Of course everyone thought I was adorable. Who wouldn't?
I also got to see some sheep, goats, chickens and horses. I sure did try hard to meet them but foster mom wouldn't let me:(.

It was such a busy weekend and I got to experience so many new things...and enjoyed every minute of it. Even though I never spent much time inside a house before, or been to a busy farm, or met SO many people and dogs in my life, nothing much bothers me at all! I'm so well adjusted:). I'm just a VERY busy girl who always likes to be on the go. I can keep myself busy for hours each day! I think I'm making up for lost time. I really want an active family that has time to train me, play with me, and love me most of all. And if they want to take me hunting that'd be fun too.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention that I haven't had an accident in the house in days!! I'm so good at this!!

Its good to be a GSP!

Hi! I'm back. I've been in foster care for almost 2 weeks and life indoors is GREAT! I am getting more comfortable here every day and letting my true personality shine. I have calmed down a LOT since I'm pretty sure now that this isn't all a dream. I hardly pace around anymore, I keep myself busy with toys, and I initiate play with my foster sister every day. We have so much fun wrestling & romping around together. I'm beginning to learn how to play tug of war and I'm sure I'll figure it out soon. I also love to run & play with my foster sisters in the yard. We have lots of fun pointing birds too. When I first got here I was just so interested in exploring the yard that I didn't care about the birds and critters. Boy have things changed! I'm learning a lot from my foster buddies and am finally fetching toys so my foster parents can thrown them again. how cool is that? My recall is pretty good too. I think I listen even better than my foster sisters, don't tell them I said that though;). I like to check in with my foster mom to make sure she's still there & then I'm off running and exploring again having fun, fun fun!

Something else I do to let everyone know how happy I am is what my foster mom calls my Happy Howl. I usually do this with a toy stuffed in my mouth when I want everyone to gather in the family room. I sure am cute. I really do love all the attention I'm getting. When my soft, squishy ears are rubbed its like getting a massage and my whole body relaxes. Where have these people been all my life?!

Another thing I love about living inside is that everything is so soft. I no longer sleep on a hard surface and the callouses on my elbows, knees and chest are softening. My foster mom thinks I'm adorable but says I'll be a beautiful girl once I'm no longer a red head. My hair is bleached from spending so much time in the sun over the past few years. She keeps saying how pretty I'll be when my hair grows in nice and dark brown. I still like to bask in the sun so hopefully she's right:). And i haven't had an accident in the house in days. I told you this housebreaking was a snap! Frequent trips outside help a lot and my foster mom & dad finally understand me & know when I'm trying to tell them I have to go!!

There's a few other things I should mention about me. I respect the 4 ft chain link fence here, although I'd love to get the chance to explore the other side. There's deer, dogs and other critters I'm really interested in but this fence helps me stay put. I'm also learning to wait for an OK before darting through the door or gate. And I don't mind getting my feet cleaned off with a towel too much anymore when I come in from a muddy romp outside. I like leash walks but must admit that I pull most of the time. But then again I never met a GSP that didn't:). We can't help it, there's so much to explore!! Foster mom says with a little leash training I'll be pretty good on leash walks. I also like riding in the car which I do in a crate to keep me safe. I hardly make a peep & settle right in for the ride.

Well, I think that's all for now. Its been a long, fun day of playing, running, chewing and squeaking, and I'm sleepy. Time to curl up in the cozy dog bed and have happy doggie dreams.
